Carvers must be over 18 years old and will be asked to sign a waiver for any accidents resulting from the competition.

Rules of the Competition

There will be 1 competition starting at 9:30 to 2:00 The Highway will be closed at 10:00 so please get there early.

CHANGE IN LOCATION:  in the field behind the laundromat.

Carving can be anything, does not have to be a bear.

1.     Prizes will be awarded for: 

a.    Originality

b.   Showmanship i.e. wear your favorite costume

c.    Detail

d.   People’s Choice

2.     Each carver will receive a CASH prize for competing, amount dependent on the above criteria.                              

3.    Carvings created during the competitions will be donated to the raffle and is tax deductable.

4.    Carvers are asked to BRING a carving of Smokey Bear for donation to the auction.  We are covering the licensing. 

       (you will get to keep 40% of the auction price.)

 5.   Carvers are allowed to bring and sell their carvings.  Carvers are required to get a Village of Capitan Business License to sell their products. ($10.00 for a one day permit.)  Village Hall is open Tuesday –Friday 8am-5pm 505-354-2247.

6.    Registration must be received by April 25^th
